Witch Haze Chapter 10

Xed: So~ where is this goal we're supposed to find?

Kaimae: It's not my goal, it's yours, remember?

Xed: Oh, yeah~ ^^'

*somthing rattles in the bush ahead of them*

Kaimae: *stops and stops Xed*

Xed: What's that?

Kaimae: Be ready. *steps aside*

Xed: Wh-Wha?!

Kaimae: Protect yourself, show me how strong you are.

Xed: (I am strong... I will protect her..) *gun appears in hand* (The gun again?) *nods, and holds gun up toward bush*

*the bush rustles and something blue jumps out and lands on Xed's face*

Xed: *yells and tries to pull it off* GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!!

*the thing held on tighter, and let out a small wail*

Kaimae: *looks at him disappointingly* (How brave of you Xed..)

Xed: *still trying to pull it off, and does. he holds the little blue thing in his hands away from him* What is this thing?

Kaimae: *gasps a little and blushes, putting one hand near her chin* I-It's an Amini!

*the Amini stops flailing and looks toward Kaimae and lets out a slight whimper.*

Kaimae: *walks up to it, smiles, and rubs the top of it's head* Hi there, sweetie~

*the Amini closed it's eyes and purs*

Kaimae: *takes it from Xed and hugs it*

Xed: So~ it's friendly?

Kaimae: Amini's go off of first impressions, you pointed a gun at it, so it may not like you very well.

Xed: *glares at them, and grumbles*

*the Amini stops purring and shoots a glare at Xed*

Kaimae: *cuddles him* Do you have a name, sweetie?

Amini: Yup. It's Mizu. *cuddles against Kaimae*

Xed: It talks?!

Kaimae: What an cute name, for a cute little guy~

Xed: *goes from shocked to angry* (Why does she like that thing so much?)

Mizu: What's your name Lady?

Kaimae: My name is Kaimae. *looks at Xed* And that's my partner, Xed. It's his first time here.

Mizu: You have a pretty name, Kaimae. *looks back at Xed* Why are you with that meanie?

Kaimae: *giggles* Xed? He's not so bad once you get used to him. *winks at Xed*

Xed: Ha ha.

Mizu: *looks aways from Xed with a dislikeable expression and whispers to Kaimae* Is he your boyfriend?

Kaimae: *blushes* Uh~ *mumbles* N-No, he's not. What gave you that idea?

Mizu: Well. I saw you wink at him. Do you like him?

Kaimae: I was just joking with him. H-He's just my partner..

Xed: *see's she doesn't look to happy, and can't hear her*

Mizu: Oh...partner in what?

Kaimae: This mission. It's his first.

Xed: Kaimae-chan, we should go.

Kaimae: *looks at him* You do know if we go I'm taking Mizu, right?

Xed: (Dang it!) Do we have to?

Kaimae: *nods*

Xed: ... *looks away* Fine..

Mizu: *giggles* So what's this mission about?

Kaimae: You must be a young Amini if you don't know?

Mizu: I'm only 100..and I still haven't gained my power so the others never let me out. Luckily I was able to sneak out but...then I ran into that meanie *points his nose towards Xed*

Xed: Whoa! Wait! He's ONLY 100?!

Kaimae: Animi's are trained until they gain their powers, most get them at the age of 100.

Mizu: That's right.

Kaimae: You were going to fight Xed to try and gain you powers right?

Mizu: Yeah. But he seems weak...

Kaimae: *whispers to Mizu* He kinda is right now~ *giggles*

Xed: -______-'

Mizu: *giggles* What about you? I can sense that you've been in more battles. Would you help train me?

Kaimae: I've been a Creature all my life. I've been threw more battles than you can imagine. Stick with me, I'll train you *smiles sweetly at Mizu*

Mizu: Yay! *cuddles against Kaimae* Thank you, Kaimae!

Kaimae: *giggles* That tickles Mizu!

Xed: -__________________-'

Mizu: *sees Xed's expression* Is he alright...?

Kaimae: *looks at Xed* Hm?

Xed: *quickly changes his expression to a more embarrassed one and looks away* <.<'

Mizu: *smiles showing his small sharp teeth*

Xed: *glances back and sees him* (I don't like that Mizu..)

Kaimae: Climb on my shoulder, Mizu. You can go with us.

Mizu: Okay. *slowly tries to climb up Kaimae, but slids down. After a few attempts, he succeds, and lays under her hair* Ready.

Kaimae: *giggles again* Your warm.

Mizu: *licks Kaimae's ear* Thank you.

Kaimae: *closes her eyes with a smile and rubs his head*

Xed: (Why am I so jealous of that little fur-ball?)

Mizu: *purs*

Xed: *turns away* Alright, lets go.

Kaimae: *looks at him walking away* Where are you going?

Xed: To find my goal!

Kaimae: Alright, alright~ Calm down, grumpy.

Xed: *notices something in the tree's above them, but it jumps away when he looks at it*

Kaimae: What is it?

Xed: ... *backs up and gets close to Kaimae* N-Nothing.

Mizu: *hides against Kaimae and puts his head behind her ear*

Kaimae: *glances up and around* ... Alright then.

Xed: Let's keep going, I just got a bad feeling.

Kaimae: Okay.

Mizu: *peeks out from Kaimae's hair*

Kaimae: It's okay, Mizu. I'll protect you.

Mizu: O-okay...I'll try to protect you too.

Kaimae: It's alright, I don't want you to strain yourself.

Mizu: *stares at kaimae with sad eyes* Y-you don't think I can...?

Kaimae: I know you could. But I'd be heart-broken if anything happened to you.

Mizu: *blushes, and rubs his head against Kaimae's neck.* That's sweet.

Kaimae: *glances at him and smiles very sweetly*

Xed: *looks at her from the corner of his eye* (How can I feel so mean and jealous when she's like that..?) *smiles very lightly*

Mizu: *rubs his eye with his left paw* So, where are we going...?

Kaimae: Hm.. We'll head toward the Dakesuto caves. That's where Mori and Gaito are.

Xed: O.O ... Why are we going there?

Kaimae: Your so fixed on finding your goal, I figure it'd be anywhere~

Mizu: Who's Mori and who's Gaito?

Kaimae: Others on the same mission. All new borns, like Xed, have to prove that they are ready to be Creatures by taking this mission. I can't tell him what it is, but he has to find something here.

Mizu: Can I do it to?

Kaimae: I suppose. I don't see why not.

Mizu: Yipee! *tail wags* What do I do?

Kaimae: We'll try and discover your power, since that's basiclly what everyone else is doing. ^^

Mizu: Okay, and how long will that take?

Kaimae: Who knows, but that's why I'm here. I'm gonna help you both. You and Xed.

Mizu: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! *licks Kaimae's face in excitement*

Kaimae: *laughs* M-Mizu!

Xed: *smiles*

Kaimae: So do you still have that feeling, Xed?

Xed: Not as much, but it still feels bad..

Mizu: Do you think it could be a Monster?

Xed: Maybe. If it is, I'm gonna fight it.

Kaimae: *glances at him, with slightly widened eyes* (His attitude changed quick!)

Mizu: And what if it's not?

Xed: What else could it be?

Kaimae: *rolls eyes and looks away* It could be a Beast~?

Xed: ... What's a "Beast"?

Kaimae: *glares at him angry* That proves you don't pay attention in class! In your first class, when you were sitting beside me, the topic was the history of Beast!

Xed: S-Sorry~ ... But what are they?

Kaimae: Nothing to really worry about. Take Mizu for example: He's a Beast.

Mizu: Huh? I mean, RAWR!

Kaimae: *giggles*

Xed: Can you give me a better example?

Mizu: *glares at Xed, and hisses*

Kaimae: You know that there are different classes, such as Vampire and Witch. Above that there is Caster and Demon. Above that there is Creature, Beast, Beast-men, and Monsters. Vampires and Witches are different classes, but both Creatures.

Xed: I don't get how Beast and Beast-men come in?

Kaimae: Creatures have the physical apperance of humans. Beast have the apperance of an animal. Beast-men are somewhere in the middle. Like Akira. He's a Beast-men, because of his ears and tail.

Xed: I kinda get it.

Mizu: Wow. You're very smart Kaimae.

Kaimae: *smiles* Thanks Mizu.

Xed: And Monsters are the evil ones?

Kaimae: Well, without their pendant all of their power goes crazy, making them "Power-crazy" which~ I guess makes them bad.

Xed: Anything that'll attack I say is evil.

Kaimae: Does that mean your evil~?

Xed: *blushes slightly* Th-That's not what I meant!

Kaimae: *giggles* I know~ I'm kidding.

Mizu: So this Gaito and Mori couple, are they nice...?

Kaimae: Of cource.

Xed: Their both Creatures, but Gaito is evil~.

Kaimae: He just doesn't like you.

Xed: *looks away*

Mizu: *lowers voice so only Kaimae can hear* Why doesn't Gaito like Xed? Is it because Xed pointed a gun at him too?

Kaimae: *whispers to him* I'm not to sure myself, buddy.

Mizu: Ooooooooh.... *shaked his head* I'm tired.

Kaimae: You can lay in my hood and sleep.

Mizu: Okayz. *rubs head against Kaimae, and slids into hood*

Kaimae: *smiles*

Xed: Will we be there soon? At the caves that is.

Kaimae: It shouldn't be too much longer.

*Kaimae and Xed walk to a clearing. It's a huge circle stone on the ground, with writing all across it*

Xed: *amazed by the stone* What is this?

Kaimae: It's a sacred stone, blessed by the Gods. No Monsters can be around it.

Xed:  ... Cool.

Mizu: *pops out of Kaimae's hood, climbs on her shoulder and looks at it* I can get on it right?

Kaimae: Yeah. That sphere on your neck is your pendant, as long as you have that you can.

Xed: It's like a key?

Kaimae: *giggles* I guess you could say that. *walks onto the stone* This is where we'll all camp tonight. Just to be safe.

Xed: Makes sense. *walks around looking at the stone* Sure is big. *goes to the center, where there is a pit and 3 benches around it* What's this hole in the center for?

Kaimae: If you put wood in it a fire will start.

Mizu: Magic?

Kaimae: *nods*

Xed: Wait, sleeping on this stone is gonna hurt. How are we supposed to get any sleep?

Kaimae: You'll see~

Xed: *confused expression*

Kaimae: But we should really get to the caves now--

*Sai and Kaitlyn come from the woods behind Xed*

Kaimae: *notices them* Hi guys.

Mizu: *makes a sad face seeing them and goes back into Kaimae's hood*

Sai: *rubs his eye* Hi Nee-Chan~..

Kaimae: *walks to him and kneels down to his level * What's wrong sweetie?

Sai: I think I fell asleep. Good thing Katie-chan didn't get hurt.

Kaimae: Aww, you should rest. You might not be feeling well. *stands up straight*

Sai: *takes her hand* Okay.

Kaimae: *walks aside and pulls out a sphere and tosses it, when it lands it becomes a tent, and walks inside with Sai*

Xed: *watching the whole time* Amazing isnt it?

Kaitlyn: What?

Xed: This world.

Kaitlyn: ... I suppose.

Xed: I don't think I could have dreamed anything like this.

Kaitlyn: I could have.

Xed: *looks at her oddly* ... *grins* I guess you have a interesting mind then.

Kaitlyn: I.. *looks at him and blushes slightly* ... I-I suppose..

Xed: What happened to Sai? You were there right?

Kaitlyn: Uh, h-he fell. And hit his head.

Xed: Oh man, I hope he's alright.

Kaitlyn: I'm sure he will be.

Xed: *sits on a bench at the center of the stone* Since we're going to go to school together, we might as well get to know each other better.

Kaitlyn: There's not much to me, it'd be a waste of time.

Xed: Little or nothing, I don't care. I at least want to try and be your friend. Kaimae-chan is the only Creature I know, so I'd like to feel more comfotable knowing more people.

Kaitlyn: *sigh* ... Alright. *walks to him*

Xed: You can sit. I won't bite.

Kaitlyn: Ha, ha.

Xed: *smiles showing his teeth*

Kaitlyn: *slowly sits beside him*

Xed: So.. My name is--

Kaitlyn: Xed Kennlee, I know. My name is Kaitlyn.

Xed: Okay.. Do you~ have any family?

Kaitlyn: No.

Xed: Oh.. I'm sorry.

Kaitlyn: It's alright. Do you have family?

Xed: Only a mom and a dad. No sibblings.

Kaitlyn: That's good.

Xed: I'm thankful for it.

Kaitlyn: *quiet* X-Xed?

Xed: Yeah?

Kaitlyn: ... *looks at him sweetly* I-I um..

Xed: (Oh, crap! Don't!)

Kaitlyn: *leans in close to him* ... I..

Xed: *backs away slightly*

Kaitlyn: *acts like she's going to kiss him*

Xed: *shocked expression* (Crap!!)

Kaimae: *walks out of the tent* Sai will be alright, he just needs some-- *sees them*

*they look at her*

Kaimae: ... Rest..

Xed: K-Kaimae-chan! Th-This isn't what it looks like!

Kaimae: ... O-Okay.. *turns to walk away*

Xed: Kaimae-chan, wait!

Kaimae: *runs away into the forest*

Xed: Kaimae-chan!

Kaitlyn: ... She left.

Xed: *stands up* I'm sorry Kaitlyn. *chases after Kaimae*

Kaitlyn: ... I knew it. He does love her. *stands up and smiles* ... Perfect~. *walks into Sai's tent, where he's laying in a sleeping bag asleep* Sleep, little one. *rubs fingers over his forehead* Your night mare is far from over, and there is no escape.

Sai: *sweating and looks as if he really is having a night mare*
